Published by Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko, the highly popular light novel Spice and Wolf won the 12th Dengeki Novel Silver Grand Prize and celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2021.
Sales of the series have exceeded 5 million copies, and its sequel Spice and Wolf: Spring Log and its spin-off series, Wolf and Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf are actively being published. The series has garnered significant popularity both in Japan and overseas.
The 15th anniversary finale to the series will be aired in 2024, as an entirely new anime project titled Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf. The anime is being produced by Passione, known for such works as Higurashi: When They Cry – Sotsu and Yuri is My Job!
Additionally, Jun Fukuyama and Ami Koshimizu will be reprising their roles as Kraft Lawrence and Holo respectively, and comments have been received from the two of them! The first PV featuring the character voices of Lawrence and Holo as well as a concept visual have been released, so please check them out below.

The PV features the character voices of Lawrence and Holo. With the PV featuring many shots of their symbolic meeting and Holo’s rich expressions, the visuals portray a tale of the merchant and wolf’s journey that will be spun from the beginning once more.

I’m Jun Fukuyama, playing the part of Lawrence.
I never thought I’d get the chance to play him again in a new anime. Moreover, I thought this anime would be a direct sequel until I read the script, so I was honestly surprised. With this in mind, since I’ve been given another chance to play Lawrence, I will do my best to give a great performance while keeping the previous era of anime close to heart.

I’m very happy to be able to play the role of Holo once again.

＜STORY＞
A young traveling merchant named Kraft Lawrence makes a living by moving between town to town selling his goods, accompanied by his equine, wagon-pulling partner.
One day he comes through a small village with fields of golden wheat, and he meets a beautiful girl with wolf ears and a tail.
“My name’s Holo.”
Holo refers to herself as the “Wise Wolf,” and the physical incarnation of the wolf goddess of harvest.
After hearing that she wishes to return to her hometown—the forest of Yoitsu far in the north—Lawrence and Holo become traveling companions on a northbound business trip.
However, a merchant’s journey is fraught with unexpected ups and downs…
The solitary merchant and lone wolf goddess’ avatar join up and begin their turbulent journey together in a horse-drawn wagon.

The traveling merchant Lawrence finds a girl asleep in his wagon filled with bundles of wheat. The beautiful girl, sporting the ears and tail of a wolf, introduces herself as Holo, a goddess of harvest: “The people used to call me a goddess, but now I’m merely Holo,” she tells him, skillfully spinning a yarn Lawrence soon finds himself entangled by. While Lawrence has his doubts about her claims of divinity, he agrees to travel with her. Together they set off toward Holo’s hometown of Yoitsu.
・The Story from Volume 18 Onward (Spice and Wolf: Spring Log)
Holo, a girl sporting wolf ears and a tail and the incarnation of a wolf goddess, met the traveling merchant Lawrence one day during one of his trips.
Together, the two of them traveled far toward Holo’s hometown of Yoitsu, and finally arrived at the hot spring town of Nyohhira at the end of their journey. Lawrence stops working as a traveling merchant, and the two of them decide to settle down together in this place.
More than ten years have passed since then, and Lawrence is running “Bathhouse Spice and Wolf” in Nyohhira. While very occupied with his business, he spends his days peacefully with his beloved wife, Holo, and their daughter, Myuri. They live a joyful life at the bathhouse, their days filled with happiness and laughter, when a new story is spun…

However, it turns out that Holo’s daughter, a girl named Myuri sporting wolf ears and a tail, was stowed away in Col’s baggage!
